anhinga bird spotted the fish swimming in a river
the hunt is on target!
ouch! this fish meets a spikey end when a bird spears it using its beak
focus...
the crafty anhinga can swim like a U-boat with its body submerged below the waterline and only its neck protruding like a periscope to creep up on its unsuspecting prey before spearing its target with a sudden thrust
oooo dear.. i'll be dead soon
glup...
the predator shook its meal free before throwing it into the air and catching it in her mouth, swallowing it down in one
the anhinga sometimes known as snakebird, american darter, water turkey, devil bird or darter

estuaries & deltas form where rivers flow into the ocean. believe it or not.. here, the fresh water of the river mixes with the salt water of the ocean
the nile delta lies at the mouth of the river nile in egypt. over thousands of years, the river has dropped large amounts of mud. this mud has bulit up into low-lying land with lots of channels of water leading out to sea
as a river gets close to the sea, it gets wider & wider, hence starts to weave about in a large bends called meanders (river bends)
the wide mouth of a river, where it neets the sea is known as estuary
some sea otters live in the shallow water of estuaries. they hunt for carbs, mussels & snails on the sea bed. they fancy to eat while floating on the surface of the water
the mud at a river mouth is full of worms & snails, which attract flocks of feeding birds
birds use their long beaks to find food in the mud
sea otters have the thickest fur of all animals. the fur insulates their bodies, keeping them warm while they swim in the cold water
tidor ya banggg... the sleeping beauty hahahaaaa

why do seawater taste very salty?
simply because the water contains alot of dissolved salt. Humans cannot drink seawater as it will make you ill with immediate effect. however animals that live in the sea have ways of coping with the high levels of salt
the dead sea in the middle east is 10 times saltier than in the ocean
a person can float on the surface & wont be sinking as the salty water is heavier than normal water and pushes harder against objects floating in it
a special gland above its eyes that make albatross able to consume salt water. the gland takes the extra salt from the bird's body & get rid of it in a salty liquid that drips from its nostrils
when salt water gathers in shallow ponds the water dries up, leaving large area of salt called salt pans. the salt is collected & used for cooking

preserved fish...
some of the salt in the seawater is made when rocks break down & from hot-water vents on the ocean floor
turtle have a salt gland behind their eyes. by getting rid of salt via their eyes, nostrils or tongue, turtle can live without much hassle
the jets of water are often nicknamed black smokers because they look balck. the temperature of the water reaches 400 degrees celsius. a chimney builds up around the jet, formed from minerals in the hot water (hot water come out of cracks in the sea bed)
volcanic eruptions under water also add salt to the ocean
nothing to do with salt water but the fish is salty hahaaaaaa

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Allah, His angels and all those in Heavens and on Earth, even ants in their hills and fish in the water, call down blessings on those who instruct others in beneficial knowledge - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 422
Día del Maestro
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: A servant of God will remain standing on the Day of Judgment until he is questioned about his (time on earth) and how he used it; about his knowledge and how he utilized it; about his wealth and from where he acquired it and in what (activities) he spent it; and about his body and how he used it - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 148
Journée des enseignants.. Lærernes dag
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, God will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge. The inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and (even) the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned over the devout is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave (no monetary inheritance), they leave only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an abundant portion - Abu-Dawood, Hadith 1631
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Make your character good for the people - Al Muwatta, Haditn 47![]()
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: The worst of guardians is a cruel ruler. Beware of becoming one of them - Muslim, Hadith 846
